Barrow Rangers emerged as winners in Graignamanagh on Saturday evening.in a tense and hard fought encounter.
Aided by a very strong breeze in the first half the visitors were quick out of the blocks and were ahead by 1-4 to 0-1 by the 15th min, Graigs point coming from the stick of Eddie Walsh from a free. Graignamanagh battled hard and at half time the deficit was down to 4 points on a scoreline of 1-6 to 5 points.Two more points from Eddie Walsh from play and one free each from James Meaney and Bernard Hennessy.
Wind assisted in the second half Graignamanagh were well in this game but again Barrow Rangers started the half the better with 2 early scores extending the lead again to 6. The home side tried gallantly to reduce the deficit but could not find the goal they badly needed with some fine defending from the visitors. Eddie Walsh converted 2 frees, Lee Kinsella hit two from play, and james Meaney hit over one from play and 1 free.In the end the margin was only 2 points with both teams benefiting from the stern examination of their Championship credentials.
