Graignamanagh u12’s had a great finish to an otherwise disappointing week after narrow defeats in the schools’ Tommy O ‘Brien Cup and schools’ League semi final, with a win over Glenmore in the Richie Young Tullogher A Final last Sunday in front of a large crowd. Ben Savage in Goal made some fine saves; he was helped by a very steady Sean Walsh at full back and with John Cahill and Thomas O ‘Neill in the corners. Pierce Blanchfield, Sean Cosgrave and Thomas Doherty made up the half back line. Jason Byrne and Joe Dowling in the middle played their best match of the year so far with a goal from play and 3 points from frees. Sean Holden at centre forward scored two vital goals when needed. He was flanked by Jack Moylan and Stephen Cahill making up a strong line of attack. Sean Dempsey, Brian Bolger and Paddy Heffernan in the full forward line attacked at every opportunity. Oisin Aylward in the backs, Cian Kennedy and David Doherty up forward gave everything in the final ten minutes to secure a win. Joe O Neill, Cian Murphy and Mikey sheehy all played a vital part in getting Graignamanagh to their first A final of the year. Well done to all the boys for their commitment so far this year and hopefully this will be the first of many wins.

Thank you to Dermott McConville for supplying a very stylish open top Merc to transport the victorious team through the streets of Graignamanagh.
