 St. Fiachra's 1-06  St. Martins 1-04.
A great win for the Minor Footballers after extra time in Jenkinstown on a chilly December morning. In a game where scores were at a premium Fiachra's led by 3 points to 2 at half time with points coming from the boots of Ryan O'Halloran, Jim Ryan and Thomas O'Donnell.  Shortly after the break St. Martins took the lead with a well taken penalty despite the efforts of our lively Goalie Joe Kelly and with scores so hard to come by things were looking good for them.  Fiachra's dug deep and launched another attack on the St. Martins goal and Jamie Byrne was taken down and awarded a penalty which Ryan O'Halloran slotted neatly to the side of the net.  With their noses in front again St. Fiachra's defended fiercly, with Ciaran O'Brien , Lee Kinsella  and Bernard Hennessy in the full back line and Thomas Joyce, James Meaney & Dylan Conran in the half back line. As the clock was winding down St. Martins sent over the equalizer and sent the game into extra time. By now James Doyle and Thomas O'Donnell were in control in mid field and once again the switch of Lee Kinsella from full back to the forwards proved vital. Edward Murphy and Paddy Dowling won some great ball. Young Martin Kelly was causing all sorts of problems for the opposing back line and with better supply of ball to the forwards Lee kinsella tacked on two very important points. Cian Aylward came on and played his part and St. Fiachras held on to that two point lead to the delight of all the ladies in the dug outs.  Thanks to Willie Dempsey, Bord Na Nog chairman who was on hand to present the cup to Captain Thomas Joyce.
