Heavy defeat for intermediates at the hands of Comer. 17/08/2008

Comer dished out a rude awakening to Graignamanagh in Palmerstown today. In what was a tough physical game, Comers first score came in the 2nd min and this was a lead they were never to relenquish. At half time Comer led by 2-07 to -03. Graigs scores coming from a pointed free on 8min from Ray Coady, A point from play on 15min from Padraig whelan and a point from a free on 26min from Cathal Dunne. The 2nd half started a little brighter wit a Ray Coady free in the 1st min followed by a point from Eddie Walsh who was set up by Hughie Flood. Eddie Dowling was taken down on his way through and Cathal pointed the resulting free on 36min. Comer added another point from play and one from a 65. Eddie Walsh made a great run through but once again was taken down and Cathal Dunne netted the 21yard free. On the 43rd min Comers Martin Boran cut a line ball over the bar David Buggy scored a point for Comer 46min. Cathal converted another free after a foul on Ger Walsh. The final nail in the coffin came when a long ball from Comer ended in the Graig net. Cathal sent over a point from play in added time. Final Score Graignamanagh 1-08 Castlecomer 3-11. The prize for the loosers is a relegation semi-final clash with Glenmore. There will need to be some serious work done in the training ground before that game.
