We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the Blanchfield Family on the sudden death of Kitty R.I.P.
There was great shock and sadness as the news broke throughout our community on Tuesday morning that one of our most loyal supporters was gone from us. Kitty along with her husband Lenny travelled the length & breadth of the County and further afield to support Graignamanagh teams with whom her three sons Willie, Matt & Leonard played & indeed Leonard is a current player. Kitty also got great enjoyment watching her grandsons & granddaughters playing with Graignamanagh, Bennettsbridge & Barrow Rangers Clubs. Her support of GAA did not stop at Club level as she was a staunch supporter of Kilkenny hurling teams. It was a fitting tribute for her contribution to the GAA that County Board Officers Ned Quinn, Jimmy Walsh & Barry Hickey came to pay their respects to the family. The esteem she was held in was very evident at her funeral as over 100 members of Graignamanagh GAA, Bennettsbridge GAA & The Bridge Club lined the route in a Guard of Honour from the Church to the Graveyard.  A fitting send off for a wonderful lady who will be greatly missed from the playing fields of Graignamanagh & Kilkenny. Ar Dheis Dé Go Raibh a h-anam .
