St. Fiachra's Mionor Footballers played their first game in the new grounds in Glenmore this morning where they had it all to do to overcome the locals in the fiercely contested  Semi final. Congratulations to Glenmore on their new facilities which at the moment is a work in progress but in time will be a top class venue.  Fiachra's had the game well in control aided by a stiff breeze and  led at half time 1-07 to 1-01,  scores coming courtesy of  Ryan O'Halloran  1-03 ( Penalty and 3 Frees), Jim Ryan 0-02, James Doyle 0-01 & Thomas O'Donnell 0-01.  With the breeze in their back Glenmore came out fighting after the break and slowly ground down Fiachra's lead with only a single score from Jamie Byrne keeping our noses in front.  With only a few minutes remaining Glenmore were awarded a penalty with which Mark Aylward made no mistake and put them 2 points to the good.  In a drastic effort to get scores on the Board Lee Kinsella was switched from full back to Centre forward and sure enough with only minutes remaining Ciaran O Brien sent a quick free to James Doyle who played the ball into Lee kinsella, lee played a quick one two with Emmet Foley and Lee calmly slotted the ball to the net.  This put Fiachra's 1 in front which they defended fiercly until the final whistle and go on to meet Muckalee in the final next weekend.                         Some game action below also some U16 action from Sat.
