Well done Junior B's

Congratulations to the Junior B team who put in a battling performance to overcome a dogged Piltown side last Saturday in Pairc Na Ratha Glenmore. Stating that the wind was relentless does not capture the ferocity of the conditions which had a great influence on the game. Whilst it blew mainly across the field the wind favored Piltown in the first half but the Graig defense contained the pressure to concede a mere 6 points and leave us in a strong position at the break 0.08 to 0.06. There was still a lot of hurling to be played and following a few exchanges Graig found themselves a point down ten minutes in. Graig needed a leader and up stepped Ken Walsh following his switch to full forward.  Ken cooly dispatched a ground stroke into the top corner of the net and recorded what would be his first of a hat trick of Goals. Goals win games and they proved to be the difference between the sides as Graignamanagh won the SJBHC final by ten points on a score line of 3.12 to 0.11.

The County final if fixed for Thomastown @ 2pm this Saturday 6th September. O’Loughlin Gales will be our opponents and this will be another tough battle. We wish the team and their mentors every luck and we hope it will be the start of a great weekend for Graignamanagh & Kilkenny. We urge everyone to travel to Thomastown to support the lads.
