Super win for U8’s in the Luke Roche Memorial Tournament

Congratulations to the under 8 hurling team who emerged victorious and brought the Luke Roche Memorial Cup to Graignamanagh for the first time. Inistioge was the venue Saturday last and the lads found themselves in a very competitive group. The first game was against local rivals St. Mullins and the lads overcame the Carlow outfit on a scoreline of 4-1 to 1-0.They then faced a strong Dublin side in Whitehall Colmcilles beating them by a goal. The final game in the group saw a win  against Bannow Ballymitty of Wexford. The scene was set then for the final against the Rower-Inistioge. This was a great 20 minutes of hurling with both teams giving their all. However Graignamanagh proved too strong in the end over a resilient Rower-Inistioge side. Kilkenny captain, Brian Hogan was on hand after the final whistle to present the Luke Roche Memorial Cup to the Graignamanagh joint captains Cian Murphy and Tom O’Shea. Congratulations to all the players and coaches on a well deserved victory. Team: Oisin Kelly, Ultan Irwin, Sean O'Neill, Tom O’Shea, Stephen Foley, Michael Sheehy, Cian Murphy, Mikey Fogarty, Fintan Gahan, Conor Byrne, Keelan Byrne, Dylan Drea, Patrick O'Neill, Phillip Byrne.
